Maggie McClure Mesmerizes

Our second act to grace Stage 2 is singer, songwriter and pianist Maggie McClure, an Oklahoma native whose opening number, ably backed by a solid guitar/bass/drums trio while she tickles the ivories, has swiftly garnered an appreciative response from audience. Second song “You Just Can’t Stop” is a new number which I’m unfortunately unable to view thanks to some oaf (and, for a change, it’s not Brandon Fuller) who’s parked himself in front of my perch at the front-right side o’ the stage. Thanks, pal. Back on topic, it’s a remarkable number of which I wish I had a better view, with McClure’s soaring vocals clearly winning over the crowd. A great set from a supremely gifted artist, with first single “Good Morning and Good Night” garnering an especially enthusiastic response from the audience, while her self-described “epic” next number certainly lived up to that billing, a magically mesmerizing missive that cemented her bond with the audience. A remarkable set from yet another artist to keep an eye on!
